Pullmanism is a theology based on various works by Phillip Pullman, primary the trilogies His Dark Materials and The Book of Dust alongside standalone companion stories, as well as Gnosticism and other various pre-existing traditions. It was originally thought of by Alethios Raymond in June of 2023 and is still actively being expanded on and refined. While the Pullmetic Fellowship is based in Pullmanism, it is important to remember the idea of the fellowship came first and practicing Pullmanism is not a requirement for any member. It is also fully open to outsiders and anyone is free to convert to it without joining the fellowship. Creating a Pullmetic group of your own is fully permissible as well. The books written by Phillip Pullman are the closest thing to a holy book in Pullmanism, though books on Pullmanism are planned to be written in a few years when Pullmanism has solidified. If you are interested in the main religious body for Pullmanism, see this website.
The two main principles of Pullmanism are truth and freedom regarding both the self and external world. Followers of Pullmanism are encouraged to be truthful in their daily life(though exceptions are made for deceit used for a good cause or when it is needed to keep the person safe) and to ensure their own freedoms whenever possible. Outside of their own lives, protecting the freedom of each other and others around them is also encouraged. Prejudice towards others is antithetical to Pullmanism as it goes against the two principles and it is encouraged to fight against prejudice whenever one safely can. While Pullmanism is in some ways a religion that directly opposes Abrahamic religion it is considered in no way acceptable for someone to try to limit the freedoms of someone who has an Abrahamic faith. Freedom includes the freedom for one to believe anything they choose and even if you think it is wrong or harmful you cannot try to force them to believe differently. Similarly, forcing anyone to do anything is considered going against the principle of freedom unless it is overwhelmingly for that person's good(for example, forcing someone who is seriously injured to go to the hospital).
In Pullmanism, events of the future are more significant than ones from our history. This is because the most important events within Pullmetic Lore happen far ahead in time. While nobody knows how literally to treat Pullman's work, the events within His Dark Materials all take place in the future relative to our world. Pullmanism could be considered an apocalyptic religion by some as it is believed there will be horrible catastrophe in the future if the most literal interpretation is taken. This is just considered fact within Pullmanism instead of being something to preach about unlike many apocalyptic religions. See [page in progress] for more details.
One main exception to the future being treated with more significance is what's referred to as Pullmetic Genesis. Unlike the story of Genesis within the Old Testament and Torah, it only involves the myth of The Fall and interprets the myth much differently. Pullmetic Genesis lays the foundations for the entirety of Pullmanism. This version of the myth treats The Fall with reverence and as the single most significant event in our history. It took place 35-40 thousand years ago and resulted in us being able to attract Dust, a type of elementary particle that by some mysterious mechanism vastly increased our consciousness and spiritual capabilities. Adam and Eve were the first humans to have the gift of Dust, not the first humans in existence. Instead of being tricked by a snake who may or may not be Satan, an unknown figure told the truth regarding the Tree of Life and made Eve fall as revenge against the Authority. This took place in many of the other worlds and many non-human societies have their own version of this story.
